Saturday 11th Feb.

Today, Jordan and I elected to spend the day working with Joe in the garden. We helped the girls clean out Khamlin's shelter then diverted from the planned activities to move more young banana trees into the garden. It was another scorching hot day and Sabrina helped us move the first 30 or so trees. In no time, it was lunch and an opportunity to cool down and eat. We moved another 20 trees that afternoon and Pauline2 assisted us getting the last ones planted, just as we were both starting to fade.

That evening we had a bonfire and it was the last opportunity for all of us to sit and chat as a group with Jen & Derek, and the Volunteer Coordinators; Say and Chan who are the most fun task masters we could have wished for!
All the dogs stayed close to us, as they had done all week, following the volunteers around the sanctuary as we completed different tasks,

Finishing the last of our beer supply, we watched the flames flicker and light the small circle of tired volunteers. The full moon lit the night sky and silhouetted the nearby tall trees. It had been a rewarding week.
